About Us

Windward Watersports

Welcome to Windward Watersports!

Windward Watersports is your one stop shop for water sports on Oahu’s windward side. We rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, surf boards and more. We also offer guided and self guided tours by kayak or stand up paddle board. We offer extended rental programs; so if you are staying on the island for 1 week or 4 we will drop off and pick up kayaks, snorkel gear, surfboards or any of our other rentals we offer right at your front door.

Kailua is a special place. We do our best to show you all that it has to offer while educating and preserving its fragile ecosystem. A portion of your rental will go to protecting the beaches and off-shore islands of Kailua so the next generations of visitors can enjoy this special place.

Testimonials

"GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE-GREAT DAY!"Bought 2 half-day single kayak Groupon for Windward Water Sports. We were going to take our son and a friend out on the ocean. I called WWS and asked if we could upgrade to double kayaks and make the rental all-day. Without hesitation, they said no problem. We scheduled our trip for the end of March but we were in a car accident so I called WWS to see if we could postpone...again, no problem. We rescheduled and when out today (Good Friday/Earth Day) and it was great. The kayaks were right were they were suppose to be, the guys checking us in were professional and our trip went off without a hitch. We will use Windward Water Sports again and will highly recommend them.Visited April 2011
"ABSOLUTE MUST FOR NATURE LOVERS"- My husband and I took the Kaneohe sunken island kayak tour, and had an absolute blast! Our guide was super helpful and very knowledgable about the area's history, and all the wildlife that is found in the bay and coral reefs. Lunch was great, the fresh papaya was a wonderful touch. And the snorkeling was amazing!!!!I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a quieter, more secluded experience than what you'll find in the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.Visited August 2011
"TOP KITEBOARDING LESSONS IN HAWAII ! " Before arriving to Oahu, Hawaii I did my homework and searched all kite board schools, I stopped my choice on Windward watersports. I was right; I booked a semi-private introduction course, the first day it was cancelled due to lack of wind. I was surprised at first but once you try flying the kite you understand that 15 mph constant wind is a minimum, without 15 mph winds, it is like trying to fly a regular kite with no wind it does not work, well Kite board is pretty much the same. The first semi-private was rebooked for the next day; the course was 3 hours it touched all the right aspects and we got as far as body drag in the sea. I took a private lesson the same day late afternoon with the owner Jeff Tobias. Wow! Google this guy, it is like taking a golf course with Tiger Woods! He reviewed what I had learnt in the morning and we started from there, along with his helmet with integrated communication, he was able to voice his instructions while I was in the water, which really accelerated my learning.I am back home, I am hooked, I am looking at buying my own equipment, I want to get better and better and go back to Hawaii and Kite in Kailua!
