Hawai`i Five-0 Season 4 Blessing

Hawai`i Five-0 Season 4 Blessing

It was the start of a new endeavor for some and a homecoming for others as the Hawai`i Five-0 production returned to its original location.

The Hawai`i Film Studio is the only state owned and operated one of its kind in the country. It served as the home for the original Hawai`i Five-0 and Magnum P.I.

Dennis Chun who plays “Sgt. Duke Lukela” on the show has a lot of history with the film studio. He acted in Magnum P.I. and his father was Kam Fong Chun, who played “Chin Ho Kelly” in the original Hawai`i Five-0.

“It’s just fantastic to be back here,” Chun said. “It feels like we’re ‘home.’ There’s so much legacy and history here and we’re going to add a lot more history and legacy here because I think it’s going to be a fantastic season.”

Alex O’Loughlin who plays “Steve McGarrett” on Hawai`i Five-0 enjoyed his first time at the studio.

Ten local Red Cross volunteers head to Arizona for disaster relief

Ten local Red Cross volunteers head to Arizona for disaster relief

Hawai`i Red Cross volunteers will share their aloha to those affected by the Arizona wildfires.

19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots were killed battling the blaze that left many without basic necessities.

Three Hawai`i Red Cross nurses left yesterday for Arizona and seven additional volunteers will be leaving this week - from Maui, O`ahu and the Big Island.

"Not only do we want to give our aloha and reach out to these poor people that are suffering so tremendously but when they come back, they're going to have experience in order to help Hawai`i be stronger for when we get hit by a disaster," American Red Cross Hawai`i State Chapter CEO Coralie Matayoshi said.
