Halloween Mermaid and Friends Water Show at Windward YMCA – October 21, 3 p.m.

A “cute and glamorous and just tiny bit scary” Mermaid and Friends synchronized water show is what awaits Halloween adventure seeking guests to the Windward YMCA on Sunday, October 21, 3 p.m.  Hawaii’s favorite synchronized swimmers  -- Mermaids Hawaii (yes, they are real mermaids complete with beautifully adorned fish tails) will be joined by a cast of Halloween costumed characters  -- Pink Elephants, Bunnies, Duckies, a Witch, Tigger’s Tutu, Kermie’s Kousin, Pink Panther’s Sista and a few Pirates!

“We are very excited and feel so fortunate to be able to open a second location for our customers on and near the Windward side,” said Andrew Dedrick, Geobunga Executive Director.  “A huge mahalo to the community for their positive response and support from day one when we opened in 2009. We took a chance during a very dark time in the economy and thankfully it paid off.

Annual Chopsticks & Wine Benefit for the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce to be held Thursday, October 18 at the Hawaii Convention Center

Foodies and wine lovers are invited to enjoy an evening of fabulous food, wine and music to benefit the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce at its 11th annual event called Chopsticks & Wine featuring “Wine…And All That Jazz.” On Thursday, October 18, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Held at the Hawaii Convention Center, is one of Hawaii’s signature foodie events will feature the culinary delights of over a dozen of Hawaii’s most respected chefs and the wines to go with it.
